In the mid-1990s, she began professional dancing and performed at the Boulder Dinner Theatre in Colorado and Country Dinner Playhouse. She then moved to Minnesota and was made a part of Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentarian film about beauty contests. Her screen debut was as the bright, beautiful contestant. She appeared in a range of cult films over the next decade, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from 1960) and Living It Up (1954) which starred Martin Lewis.
